GOP Doctors Caucus Hosts FDA Commissioner Marty Makary

The GOP Doctors Caucus hosted Food and Drug Administration Commissioner Marty Makary, M.D., to discuss the Trump Administration‘s agenda to improve America‘s health and the safety of food, drug, and tobacco products.
The FDA is working aggressively to change the slow bureaucratic processes that have stalled cures coming to market, restore American drug manufacturing, and address unmet public health needs. Additionally, the agency is enhancing tobacco, nicotine, and vape product safety, and eliminating illicit drug networks, including unregulated, opioid-like compounds available in smoke shops.
“The GOP Doctors Caucus is committed to improving the health of all Americans, including children and veterans,” said Co-Chairs Murphy, M.D. & Joyce, M.D. “FDA Commissioner Makary is doing an excellent job working to lower drug costs, restore trust in the agency, improve drug approvals, strengthen supply chains, restrict access to harmful substances marketed towards young Americans, and enhance food quality oversight. We look forward to continuing to work closely with Dr. Makary to Make America Healthy Again.”
